Kathy Hoppe, EdD, LMFT-S

Kathy Hoppe is an Assistant Professor of Community Counseling and a Licensed Marital & Family Therapist with over 30 years of experience in private, group, medical, college, and hospital settings. She is an accomplished therapist, supervisor, and educator. She is a Certified Compassion Fatigue Professional and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional by IATP (International Association of Trauma Professionals), Certified Compassion Fatigue Specialist, Compassion Fatigue Educator by the Green Cross Academy of Traumatology, Certified Telemental Health Provider, and Substance Abuse Professional, as well as a Clinical Fellow in AAMFT. Kathy’s specialities include stress, burnout, and compassion fatigue. She is an Oklahoma LMFT supervisor and approved provider for the Supervisor Equivalency Course.

Kathy is author of RENEW Bible Study: Defeating Exhaustion & Compassion Fatigue; 2 RENEW: Journey to Wholeness, Essential Drops for Living, Essential Drops for Love, Going Beyond: A Christian Response to Challenges, Floral Inspirations, & Hunting for Hazel. She is also co-author of Discovery Teaching Like Jesus, a constructivist model of religious adult learning, and Drowning for Jesus: Compassion Fatigue in Ministry, released by Resource Publications, an imprint of Wipf and Stock.

Kathy has taught in undergraduate and graduate programs at Rogers State University, Grand Canyon University, Wayland Baptist University, Lancaster Bible College, Southern Nazarene University-Tulsa, & Oral Roberts University. She has a Doctor of Education in Community Care & Counseling-Trauma, Doctor of Ministry, Master of Science in Psychology, Master of Divinity, and Bachelor of Arts in psychology. In addition, Kathy has an online certificate of achievement in online education and a postgraduate certificate in marriage & family therapy awarded by COAMFTE.
